ABOUT GALLAGHER-FENNELL HES
Marylouise Fennell and the late Paul Gallagher began working together as consultants to higher education in 1999. They determined that they could fill a need by assisting, at reasonable cost, small and medium-size independent institutions in their efforts to identify and hire outstanding leaders. Subsequently they established GALLAGHER-FENNELL HIGHER EDUCATION SERVICES.
GALLAGHER-FENNELL HIGHER EDUCATION SERVICES began as a small enterprise and will continue to be one. By limiting the number of assignments in which they are engaged, the firms principals can personally attend to each client institution while keeping costs low.
OUR FIRM
One of the best known and highly respected consultants in the field of independent higher education, Marylouise Fennell is a Sister of Mercy. She is past-president of Carlow University in Pittsburgh and senior counsel for the Washington-based Council of Independent Colleges, where she directs the annual New Presidents Program.
The late Paul Gallagher was past-associate executive and interim director of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities, also Washington-based. Earlier, he directed the American College Program at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland and served on the faculty of Trinity College in Washington.
Their experience in the academy at the national level provides them with a wide network of colleagues who serve as resources nominators and often candidates for client institutions.
